Mind and Its Problems

Public Seminar on Mental Health and Mental Illness

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 1 in every 8 people across the globe live with mental difficulties. Despite this, mental illness remains misunderstood, and access to effective care is still limited for the majority.

Mental disorders involve significant disturbances in thinking, emotional regulation, and or behaviour. They are not limited to a single form—there are many different types of mental health conditions, each affecting people in unique ways. However, the good news is that effective treatment options do exist.

Unfortunately, most people do not have access to these solutions, and mental health services remain underused, often due to lack of awareness or stigma. That’s why this seminar is vital.

What This half-a-day Seminar Covers:

  • Understanding the mind and how it relates to mental health
  • The basics of mental illness and how to recognise early signs
  • Common types of mental disorders
  • The services and treatments available for those facing mental health challenges
  • How to maintain and promote mental well-being

Whether you’re someone seeking help, a family member, a friend, or simply curious, this seminar is for you. It is designed for the general public, offering accessible, science-based information in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Let’s break the silence and learn together about the mind and its problems—because mental health matters to us all.
